Бога Смерти, или Шинигами-сама, можно по праву назвать спасителем мира: когда-то он победил опасного демона Кишина, погрузившего все сущее в пучину безумия. Ну а чтобы такое никогда больше не повторилось, Шинигами-сама основал особую Академию для своих помощников – студентов, которые являются либо мастерами по обращению с магическим оружием, либо самим оружием, способным принимать человеческую форму.
Задача студентов – защищать людей от сбившихся с пути душ, готовых превратиться в яйцо Кишина. Все студенты-люди мечтают стать великими мастерами по обращению с оружием и защищать мир от нечисти, а их напарники хотят когда-нибудь послужить самому Шинигами-сама. Особенно высокие требования к себе предъявляют три команды. В первой – старательная студентка Мака, дочь нынешнего божественного оружия, и ее верный друг Сол, превращающийся в косу. Во второй – крикливый Блэк Стар, мечтающий стать лучшим в своем деле, и его рассудительная напарница Цубаки, способная обращаться в оружие ниндзя. А в третьей – ни кто иной, как сын Шинигами-сама, помешанный на симметрии и орудующий двумя сестричками-пистолетами.
